Blurb:  Olivia Adler is a woman with a troubled past. After losing her parents at the young age of six and being raised by an uncle who she lost years later, she refuses to get attached to anyone, including friends. For the past decade, she has been able to remain unattached to any man, too worried about losing someone to get too close. Until Alexander Burnham walks into her life one night and changes everything. But he has issues of his own. And he’s keeping a secret that could turn her world upside-down. Will Olivia let Alexander in enough for him to get close and protect her from a force threatening her very existence, or will she push him away, scared of letting Alexander in, in order to protect her heart?
Review:  In “A Beautiful Mess” we meet Olivia.  Olivia is jaded by her past, and therefore, lives her life as a product of that past.  Olivia has a set of guidelines that she lives by.  Only casual hookups, no sleepovers, and most of all, no falling in love.  Olivia knows how it feels to have loved and lost.  One night, Alexander is thrust into her life.  Olivia is reluctant to Alexander’s help, but there’s something about this guy that she can’t quite put her finger on.  Alexander feels it too.  Olivia decides to relent on some of her rules, and gives Alexander a shot.
Alexander is a man who is always in control.  From Harvard dropout to Navy SEAL to running his father’s security business, one fateful night brings him to finding Olivia.  Is it his Olivia?  The one who’s been gone for 20+ years?  Only time will tell…
This book has ALL. THE. FEELS.  You want her to relent and give true love a shot but there’s just something that Alexander is keeping from her.  With Olivia’s troubled past, and need for control, will she give in to these feelings or run for the hills?
*Fair Warning* Have book 2 “A Tragic Wreck” on standby.
